My Favorite Books On Creativity

  1. The Artist's Way at Work: Riding the Dragon by: Mark Bryan with Julia Cameron and Catherine Allen - 1998.
This brings The Artist's Way into the workplace in a twelve week plan for creative freedom.
  2. The Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity by: Cameron, Julia - 1992.
This is the program for discovering and recovering your creative self.
  3. Inventivity: Two Toy Inventors Simplify Creativity by: Maria Girsch and Charlie - 1999.
Cleverly arranged, full of stretch-exercises and techniques that develop a habit of creative thinking and doing.
  4. The Creative Fire: Myths and Stories About the Cycles of Creativity by: Clarissa Pinkola Estes
The psychologist and storyteller uses myth and stories to describe our natural born creative gifts and our search and struggle for them. This audio tape is fabulous to listen to! She has the voice and wisdom of a mother/therapist/friend.
  5. A Whack on the Side of the Head: How You Can Be More Creative by: Von Oech, Roger - 1998.
This best-selling creativity classic, first published in 1983, has bright ideas and expanding exercises to unlock the limits we have absorbed since childhood.
  6. Sparks Of Genius by: Root-Bernstein, Robert and Michele - 1999.
The thirteen thinking tools of the world's most creative people are explained and proposed as a basis for all education. This is not light reading, but very rewarding.
